In Friday's non-league game, the Sussex Central Golden Knights (Georgetown, DE) football team were victorious over the host La Plata Warriors (La Plata, MD), by a score of 34-18.

The Golden Knights (1-0) will now prepare for their game against Southern (Harwood, MD). The Bulldogs come into the non-league game with a 0-1 record. In their last game, Southern was knocked off by Glen Burnie (Glen Burnie, MD), 17-7, in a league game.

The Warriors now sport a 0-1 record. They take the field next when they travel to Great Mills for a non-league game on Friday, September 13. La Plata will meet a Hornets team coming off a 38-28 non-league win over Crossland (Temple Hills, MD). The Hornets record now stands at 1-0.
