Washington High School Basketball - Newport holds off Issaquah
January 11, 2013: Bellevue, WA 98006 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Newport Knights (Bellevue, WA) and the visiting Issaquah Eagles (Issaquah, WA), saw Newport's basketball squad hold off Issaquah by a score of 48-47.
With the victory, Newport improves its record to 10-3 on the campaign. The Knights host Woodinville (Woodinville, WA) to play the Falcons in a 4A KingCo challenge on Tuesday, January 15. The Falcons come into the challenge with a record of 2-12. Woodinville lost 73-46 in their recent league challenge against Bothell (Bothell, WA)
Next up, the Eagles play the Redmond Mustangs (Redmond, WA) in a 4A KingCo challenge, on Tuesday, January 15. Issaquah will attempt to improve on its 9-4 season record. The Mustangs come into the battle with a 2-12 record after their 74-51 league loss to Inglemoor (Kenmore, WA).
