Fans at Thursday's league challenge between the Sunrise Mountain Mustangs (Peoria, AZ) and the host Copper Canyon Aztecs (Glendale, AZ), saw Sunrise Mountain's basketball squad hold off Copper Canyon by a score of 57-52.

With the victory, Sunrise Mountain improves its record to 3-6 on the campaign. The Mustangs host Youngker (Buckeye, AZ) to battle the Roughriders in a non-league challenge on Friday, December 14. The Roughriders come into the challenge with a record of 6-3. Youngker lost 64-23 in their recent league challenge against Agua Fria (Avondale, AZ)

Next up, the Aztecs battle the La Joya Community Fighting Lobos (Avondale, AZ) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, December 14. Copper Canyon will attempt to improve on its 10-3 season record.
