In Saturday's non-league outing, the Hanover Central Wildcats (Cedar Lake, IN) basketball squad edged the visiting Kankakee Valley Kougars (Wheatfield, IN), by a count of 65-63.

The Wildcats (12-6) will now prepare for their outing against Illiana Christian (Dyer, IN). The Vikings go into the non-league outing with a 15-5 record. In their last outing, Illiana Christian held off Griffith (Griffith, IN), 51-24, in a non-league outing.

The Kougars now hold a 7-13 record. They play next when they travel to Hobart for a Northwest Crossroads outing on Tuesday, February 23. Kankakee Valley will clash with a Brickies squad coming off a 86-39 non-league loss to Merrillville (Merrillville, IN). The Brickies record now stands at 4-13.
