North Carolina High School Basketball - Hiwassee Dam holds off Tellico Plains
February 8, 2021: Murphy, NC 28906 Fans at Monday's non-league challenge between the Hiwassee Dam Eagles (Murphy, NC) and the visiting Tellico Plains Bears (Tellico Plains, TN), saw Hiwassee Dam's basketball squad hold off Tellico Plains by a tally of 66-63.
With the victory, Hiwassee Dam improves its record to 6-4 on the campaign. The Eagles host Highlands (Highlands, NC) to confront the Highlanders in a Little Smoky Mountain 1A challenge on Tuesday, February 9. The Highlanders come into the challenge with a record of 4-2. Highlands won 72-39 in their recent league challenge against Nantahala (Topton, NC)
Next up, the Bears confront the Sale Creek Panthers (Sale Creek, TN) in a A District 4 challenge, on Tuesday, February 9. Tellico Plains will attempt to improve on its 4-3 season record.
