The crowd at Friday's non-league contest between the Hazleton Area Cougars (Hazleton, PA) and the host Scranton Knights (Scranton, PA), observed Hazleton Area's football squad defeat Scranton by a count of 27-7.

The Cougars now own a 4-3 record. They play next when they host Wilkes-Barre for a Wyoming Valley 6A/5A contest on Friday, October 15. Hazleton Area will encounter a squad coming off a 35-31 league win over Tunkhannock (Tunkhannock, PA). The record now stands at 4-3.
