The Jasper Vikings held off the visiting Cullman Bearcats football team by a count of 20-16 in Friday's non-league outing.

With the win, Jasper upgrades its record to 2-0 on the season. The Vikings travel to Clay-Chalkville (Pinson, AL) to confront the Cougars in a 6A Region 6 outing on Friday, September 3. The Cougars go into the outing with a record of 2-0. Clay-Chalkville won 57-40 in their recent non-league outing against Hueytown (Hueytown, AL)

With the loss, Cullman moves to 1-1 on the season. The Bearcats host Hartselle (Hartselle, AL) to confront the Tigers in a 6A Region 8 outing on Friday, September 3. The Tigers go into the outing with a record of 2-0. Hartselle won 41-0 in their recent non-league outing against Mae Jemison (Huntsville, AL)
