California High School Baseball - Cathedral loses to Serra
April 11, 2014: Los Angeles, CA 90012 In Friday's league game, the visiting Serra Cavaliers baseball team scored a tight 7-2 victory over the Cathedral Phantoms.
The Cavaliers (5-7) will now prepare for their game against Bishop Amat (La Puente, CA). The Lancers go into the Del Rey game with a 8-6 record. In their last game, Bishop Amat tipped Palisades (Pacific Palisades, CA), 9-3, in a non-league game.
The Phantoms (4-8) will now prepare for their game against La Salle (Pasadena, CA). The Lancers go into the Del Rey game with a 12-6 record. In their last game, La Salle tipped St. Paul (Santa Fe Springs, CA), 10-9, in a league game.
Game Summary
Tommy Bothwell threw a complete game going the distance beating Cathedral 7 to 2. Tommy gave up 7 sparce hits and walked none. It was an outstanding performance by the sophomore right hander. He threw for excellent location and kept his opponents off balance with his off speed pitches.
