North Carolina High School Baseball - Cleveland defeats South Johnston
April 24, 2013: Four Oaks, NC 27524 Cleveland Rams (Clayton, NC) fans exited the stadium thrilled Wednesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the host South Johnston Trojans (Four Oaks, NC), 6-0 in a league test.
With the win, Cleveland upgrades its record to 11-10 on the season. The Rams host Corinth Holders (Wendell, NC) to battle the in a non-league test on Saturday, April 27. The come into the test with a record of 13-6. Corinth Holders won 2-0 in their recent league test against Franklinton (Franklinton, NC)
With the defeat, South Johnston falls to 15-5 on the season. The Trojans host Triton (Erwin, NC) to battle the Hawks in a 3A Eastern Carolina test on Friday, April 26. The Hawks come into the test with a record of 14-7. Triton lost 3-1 in their recent league test against Eastern Wayne (Goldsboro, NC)

Cleveland escapes South Johnston behind Whitley's 15 strikeouts, 6-0
Wednesday was a great day for Kodi Whitley, as Whitley threw a shutout to carry Cleveland to a 6-0 victory over South Johnston at South Johnston HS in seven innings.
Whitley struck out 15 hitters en route to the Cleveland win. Cleveland's pitcher tossed seven innings of shutout ball and allowed only six hits.
Cleveland blew out South Johnston thanks to 10 hits, including three extra base hits. Cleveland scored three runs in the first on an RBI double by Whitley, a groundout by Trevor Poole, and an RBI double by Alan Stephenson.
Cleveland tallied one run in each of the fourth, fifth and seventh. In the fourth, Cleveland scored on an RBI single by Ernie Chapin, scoring Poole.
