Morrill Lions (Morrill, NE) backers were in high spirits Friday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Hay Springs Hawks (Hay Springs, NE), 46-42 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Morrill upgrades its record to 6-9 on the season. The Lions host Lingle-Fort Laramie (Lingle, WY) to play the Doggers in a non-league bout on Tuesday, January 25. The Doggers go into the bout with a record of 7-5. Lingle-Fort Laramie won 72-15 in their recent league bout against Guernsey-Sunrise (Guernsey, WY)

Next up, the Hawks play the Hot Springs Bison (Hot Springs, SD) in a non-league bout, on Monday, January 24. Hay Springs will attempt to upgrade on its 4-10 season record.
