Vermont High School Football - Essex knocked off by Champlain Valley Union
September 23, 2016: Essex Junction, VT 05452 Champlain Valley Union Redhawks (Hinesburg, VT) fans left the game content Friday as they saw their football team gain a win over the host Essex Hornets (Essex Junction, VT), 20-0 in a league test.
With the triumph, Champlain Valley Union advances its record to 4-0 on the season. The Redhawks host St. Johnsbury Academy (St. Johnsbury, VT) to play the Hilltoppers in a Division I battle on Saturday, October 1. The Hilltoppers go into the battle with a record of 4-0. St. Johnsbury Academy won 46-21 in their recent league battle against Rutland (Rutland, VT)
Coming up next, the Hornets play the Bellows Free Academy Bobwhites (St. Albans, VT) in a Division I battle, on Friday, September 30. Essex will attempt to advance on its 2-2 season record. The Bobwhites go into the battle with a 1-3 record after their 47-0 league loss to Hartford (White River Junction, VT).
