In Friday's non-league game, the Brewer Bears (Fort Worth, TX) football team knocked off the visiting Weatherford Kangaroos (Weatherford, TX), by a final score of 28-14.

The Bears (1-1) will now prepare for their game against Centennial (Burleson, TX). The Spartans come into the non-league game with a 2-0 record. In their last game, Centennial toppled Birdville (North Richland Hills, TX), 35-14, in a non-league game.

The Kangaroos now hold a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they host Burleson for a non-league game on Friday, September 9. Weatherford will battle a Elks team coming off a 38-28 non-league loss to Paschal (Fort Worth, TX). The Elks record now stands at 1-1.
