Utah High School Softball - Granger falls to Hunter
April 25, 2019: West Valley City, UT 84120 In Thursday's league outing, the host Hunter Wolverines softball team scored a nice 16-1 win over the Granger Lancers.
Coming up next, the Wolverines battle the Northridge Knights (Layton, UT) in a non-league outing, on Saturday, April 27. Hunter will attempt to upgrade on its 4-9 season record. The Knights enter the outing with a 9-13 record after their 11-1 league loss to Fremont (Plain City, UT).
The Lancers (1-13) will now prepare for their outing against Kearns (Kearns, UT). The Cougars enter the 6A Region 2 outing with a 8-7 record. In their last outing, Kearns ran past Cyprus (Magna, UT), 5-1, in a league outing.
Game Summary
Granger struck first by scoring a run in the top of the first inning, but the Wolverines wasted no time in getting back on time scoring 4 runs. Hunter got their bats dialed in during the second inning and tallied 12 more runs. Granger gets run-ruled and didn't make it past the 3rd inning. Sophomore Teya Gasu struck out 5 of the 11 batters to finish the game.
