California High School Softball - San Fernando gets by Sylmar
March 18, 2010: Sylmar, CA 91342 The San Fernando Tigers got by the host Sylmar Spartans softball squad by a final score of 8-7 in Thursday's league battle.
The Tigers (5-2) will now prepare for their battle against Poly (Sun Valley, CA). The Parrots go into the non-league battle with a 3-3 record. In their last battle, Poly nudged Jefferson (El Paso, TX), 6-1, in a non-league battle.
The Spartans now possess a 1-4 record. They play next when they host Marlborough for a non-league battle on Saturday, March 20. Sylmar will meet a Mustangs squad coming off a 11-1 non-league win over Windward (Los Angeles, CA). The Mustangs record now stands at 4-4.
Game Summary
Senior Victoria Perez had the game winning grandslam in the of the 4th inning to sec ure the lead for the visiting Tigers.The Tigers defense tightened up the last 3 innings giving up only one run and hanging on for the victory. What a game!!!
