In Tuesday's non-league outing, the Nixon Mustangs (Laredo, TX) basketball squad edged the host Taft Raiders (San Antonio, TX), by a margin of 61-59.

The Mustangs (25-8) will now prepare for their outing against Harlingen (Harlingen, TX). The Cardinals go into the non-league outing with a 20-14 record. In their last outing, Harlingen held off Edinburg North (Edinburg, TX), 49-44, in a non-league outing.

The Raiders now own a 19-14 record.
