In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Manchester Valley Mavericks basketball team scored a tight 56-50 triumph over the Fallston Cougars.

In their next game, the Mavericks meet the Century Knights (Sykesville, MD) in a Carroll County match, on Friday, January 3. Manchester Valley will attempt to move on its 3-3 season record. The Knights enter the match with a 6-1 record after their 66-42 non-league win over Marriotts Ridge (Marriottsville, MD).
