John Paul the Great Academy Guardians (Lafayette, LA) backers were pleased Friday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the visiting Berchmans Academy Saints (Grand Coteau, LA), 32-18 in a league bout.

With the victory, John Paul the Great Academy upgrades its record to 5-3 on the campaign. The Guardians travel to Lighthouse Christian Preparatory (Abbeville, LA) to play the Eagles in a Christian Educators of Louisiana - Southwest bout on Monday, January 6. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 2-0. Lighthouse Christian Preparatory won 62-59 in their recent league bout against NELA Christian Homeschool (Monroe, LA)

Next up, the Saints play the Acadiana Christian Defenders (Lafayette, LA) in a non-league bout, on Tuesday, January 7. Berchmans Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 1-6 season record. The Defenders come into the bout with a 2-4 record after their 71-36 non-league loss to Wilkinson County Christian (Woodville, MS).
