Squalicum Storm (Bellingham, WA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Meridian Trojans (Bellingham, WA), 61-59 in a league bout.

With the victory, Squalicum upgrades its record to 8-9 on the campaign. The Storm travel to Nooksack Valley (Everson, WA) to play the Pioneers in a 1A/2A/3A Northwest bout on Friday, January 31. The Pioneers come into the bout with a record of 9-7. Nooksack Valley lost 67-51 in their recent league bout against Lynden Christian (Lynden, WA)

In their next game, the Trojans meet the Lummi Blackhawks (Bellingham, WA) in a non-league match, on Wednesday, January 29. Meridian will attempt to move on its 10-5 season record. The Blackhawks enter the match with a 14-2 record after their 84-14 league win over Shoreline Christian (Seattle, WA).
