In Friday's non-league match, the visiting Mountain Brook Spartans football squad scored a good 34-24 victory over the Hoover Buccaneers.

In their next game, the Spartans clash with the Parker Thundering Herd (Birmingham, AL) in a 6A Region 5 match, on Friday, October 13. Mountain Brook will attempt to move on its 5-1 season record.

The Buccaneers (1-5) will now prepare for their match against Oak Mountain (Birmingham, AL). The Eagles enter the 7A Region 3 match with a 1-5 record. In their last match, Oak Mountain dropped by Briarwood Christian (Birmingham, AL), 21-0, in a non-league match.
