In Friday's non-league match, the visiting West Philadelphia Speedboys football squad scored a close 21-19 victory over the Bishop Shanahan Eagles.

In their next game, the Speedboys clash with the Dover Senators (Dover, DE) in a non-league match, on Friday, September 1. West Philadelphia will attempt to move on its 1-0 season record.
