Oxford Preparatory Griffins (Oxford, NC) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Vance Charter School Knights (Henderson, NC), 61-59 in a league bout.

With the win, Oxford Preparatory upgrades its record to 6-14 on the season. The Griffins host East Wake Academy (Zebulon, NC) to clash with the Eagles in a North Central 1A bout on Friday, January 25. The Eagles go into the bout with a record of 3-14. East Wake Academy lost 83-64 in their recent league bout against Roxboro Community (Roxboro, NC)

Next up, the Knights clash with the Falls Lake Academy Firebirds (Creedmoor, NC) in a North Central 1A bout, on Thursday, January 24. Vance Charter School will attempt to upgrade on its 4-8 season record. The Firebirds go into the bout with a 10-10 record after their 90-50 league loss to Henderson Collegiate (Henderson, NC).
