Illinois High School Basketball - Schlarman nips Hoopeston
February 8, 2019: Hoopeston, IL 60942 Fans at Friday's league challenge between the Schlarman Hilltoppers (Danville, IL) and the host Hoopeston Cornjerkers (Hoopeston, IL), saw Schlarman's basketball squad hold off Hoopeston by a tally of 61-59.
With the victory, Schlarman improves its record to 9-17 on the campaign. The Hilltoppers host Dwight (Dwight, IL) to play the Trojans in a non-league challenge on Saturday, February 9. The Trojans come into the challenge with a record of 8-19. Dwight won 88-49 in their recent league challenge against Iroquois West (Gilman, IL)
Next up, the Cornjerkers play the Armstrong Trojans (Armstrong, IL) in a Vermilion Valley challenge, on Tuesday, February 12. Hoopeston will attempt to improve on its 14-14 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 7-22 record after their 45-42 league loss to Georgetown-Ridge Farm (Georgetown, IL).
