The Sutherland Sailors routed the visiting Perkins County Plainsmen basketball team by a final score of 53-31 in Saturday's league game.

In their next game, the Sailors face the Hershey Panthers (Hershey, NE) in a C1 District 11 game, on Tuesday, January 8. Sutherland will attempt to move on its 4-4 season record. The Panthers enter the game with a 5-4 record after their 52-46 league loss to Bridgeport (Bridgeport, NE).

With the defeat, Perkins County moves to 4-6 on the year. The Plainsmen travel to Chase County (Imperial, NE) to face the Longhorns in a non-league game on Thursday, January 10. The Longhorns enter the game with a record of 7-2.
