In Wednesday's non-league outing, the Ligonier Valley Rams (Ligonier, PA) basketball squad knocked off the visiting Portage Mustangs (Portage, PA), by a margin of 49-39.

The Rams (6-1) will now prepare for their outing against Penns Manor (Clymer, PA). The Comets go into the Heritage match with a 4-2 record. In their last match, Penns Manor overcame Claysburg-Kimmel (Claysburg, PA), 52-43, in a non-league match.

With the defeat, Portage moves to 6-1 on the year. The Mustangs travel to Windber (Windber, PA) to confront the Ramblers in a Western Pennsylvania - Northern match on Tuesday, January 3.
