Illinois High School Basketball - Springfield fells Notre Dame
December 27, 2011: Springfield, IL 62704 Fans at Tuesday's non-league challenge between the Springfield Senators (Springfield, IL) and the visiting Notre Dame Irish (Peoria, IL), saw Springfield's basketball squad overcome Notre Dame by a count of 79-60.
With the victory, Springfield upgrades its record to 10-3 on the campaign. The Senators host Glenwood (Chatham, IL) to play the Titans in a Central State Eight challenge on Tuesday, January 3. The Titans come into the challenge with a record of 7-4. Glenwood won 42-29 in their recent non-league challenge against McCluer North (Florissant, MO)
Next up, the Irish play the Central Catholic Saints (Bloomington, IL) in a Corn Belt test, on Tuesday, January 3. Notre Dame will attempt to advance on its 3-6 season record. The Saints go into the test with a 8-4 record after their 62-28 non-league loss to Newman Central Catholic (Sterling, IL).
