Central Lions (Hayneville, AL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Goshen Eagles (Goshen, AL), 44-36 in a league bout.

With the win, Central upgrades its record to 8-7 on the season. The Lions host Southside (Selma, AL) to play the Panthers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 27. The Panthers go into the bout with a record of 10-5. Southside won 51-19 in their recent league bout against Bibb County (Centreville, AL)

Next up, the Eagles play the Highland Home Flying Squadron (Highland Home, AL) in a 2A Area 5 bout, on Friday, January 27. Goshen will attempt to upgrade on its 1-13 season record. The Flying Squadron go into the bout with a 4-11 record after their 55-23 non-league loss to Brantley (Brantley, AL).
