Ohio High School Basketball - Vinton County prevails Ironton
January 9, 2012: McArthur, OH 45651 Vinton County Vikings (McArthur, OH) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Ironton Fighting Tigers (Ironton, OH), 63-48 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Vinton County upgrades its record to 6-5 on the season. The Vikings travel to Meigs (Pomeroy, OH) to play the Marauders in a Tri-Valley I bout on Thursday, January 12. The Marauders go into the bout with a record of 3-6.
Next up, the Fighting Tigers play the Raceland Rams (Raceland, KY) in a non-league bout, on Wednesday, January 11. Ironton will attempt to upgrade on its 2-10 season record. The Rams go into the bout with a 9-5 record after their 55-30 league win over Greenup County (Greenup, KY).
