Connecticut High School Baseball - Stratford loses to St. Joseph
April 12, 2010: Stratford, CT 06615 In Monday's non-league game, the visiting St. Joseph Cadets baseball team scored a nice 15-3 victory over the Stratford Red Devils.
The Cadets (2-0) will now prepare for their game against Trinity Catholic (Stamford, CT). The Crusaders go into the Fairfield County game with a 1-0 record. In their last game, Trinity Catholic ran past McMahon (Norwalk, CT), 7-3, in a league game.
The Red Devils (0-2) will now prepare for their game against Weston (Weston, CT). The Trojans go into the Southwest - Patriot game with a 1-2 record. In their last game, Weston ran past Platt RVT (Milford, CT), 22-4, in a non-league game.
Game Summary
Tyler Matakevich hit a three-run homer and added an RBI single to lead the offense. Chris McCormack added two triples, two RBI and three runs scored. Zack Philippas scattered seven hits and struck out three i five innings to gain the win.
