Connecticut High School Baseball - Bassick loses to St. Joseph
April 30, 2010: Trumbull, CT 06611 In Friday's league game, the host St. Joseph Cadets baseball team scored a nice 14-0 victory over the Bassick Lions.
The Cadets (9-1) will now prepare for their game against New Canaan (New Canaan, CT). The Rams go into the Fairfield County game with a 4-4 record.
The Lions (0-7) will now prepare for their game against McMahon (Norwalk, CT). The Senators go into the Fairfield County game with a 6-5 record. In their last game, McMahon was overwhelmed by Westhill (Stamford, CT), 2-1, in a league game.
Game Summary
Tyler Matakevich hit a first-inning, three-run home run while Joe DellaVecchia, Brendan Nugent and Nick Adzima also contributed multiple RBI to lead St. Joseph over Bassick 14-0.
Zack Philippas (W, 2-0) gave up only one bunt single in four innings of work.
