August 26, 2011: Merrillville, IN 46410 In Friday's non-league game, the Andrean Fighting 59ers (Merrillville, IN) football team knocked off the visiting Merrillville Pirates (Merrillville, IN), by a final score of 21-12.
The Fighting 59ers (2-0) will now prepare for their game against West Side (Gary, IN). The Cougars come into the non-league game with a 1-1 record. In their last game, West Side toppled Bowen (Chicago, IL), 34-6, in a non-league game.
The Pirates now hold a 0-2 record. They take the field next when they travel to Crown Point for a Duneland game on Friday, September 2. Merrillville will battle a Bulldogs team coming off a 45-6 non-league win over Hobart (Hobart, IN). The Bulldogs record now stands at 2-0.
