May 3, 2011: Bradenton, FL 34205 Manatee Hurricanes (Bradenton, FL) fans exited the stadium thrilled Tuesday as they observed their baseball squad overcome the visiting King Lions (Tampa, FL), 15-5 in a non-league test.
With the win, Manatee upgrades its record to 17-6 on the season. The Hurricanes host Gaither (Tampa, FL) to battle the Cowboys in a non-league test on Friday, May 6. The Cowboys come into the test with a record of 16-8. Gaither won 1-0 in their recent non-league test against Venice (Venice, FL)
With the defeat, King falls to 17-10 on the season.
Game Summary
Bad luck haunted the Lions on Tuesday, May 3, 2011, as they lost their season finale to the Manatee Hurricanes by a final score of 15 - 5. Keon Barnum went 2 for 4 with a double and a home run, and Cedric Walker was 2 for 2, but it wasn't nearly enough to overcome the Hurricanes' 22-hit performance. Still, the Lions should be very proud of a successful season; the team is composed of a solid group of fine young men with bright futures in college, baseball, and all other avenues they choose to explore.
