Illinois High School Basketball - Mattoon fells Rantoul

Mattoon Green Wave (Mattoon, IL) backers were in high spirits Monday as they witnessed their basketball squad thwart the visiting Rantoul Eagles (Rantoul, IL), 74-60 in a non-league bout.
With the win, Mattoon upgrades its record to 8-8 on the season. The Green Wave host Mt. Zion (Mt. Zion, IL) to play the Braves in a Apollo bout on Tuesday, January 11. The Braves go into the bout with a record of 12-4. Mt. Zion won 73-29 in their recent non-league bout against Ridgewood (Norridge, IL)
Next up, the Eagles play the Prairie Central Hawks (Fairbury, IL) in a Illini Prairie bout, on Friday, January 14. Rantoul will attempt to upgrade on its 0-18 season record. The Hawks go into the bout with a 14-3 record after their 64-49 non-league win over Morton (Morton, IL).
