West Warriors (Torrance, CA) backers were pleased Monday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting South Spartans (Torrance, CA), 47-42 in a league bout.

With the victory, West upgrades its record to 10-7 on the campaign. The Warriors host El Segundo (El Segundo, CA) to play the Eagles in a Pioneer bout on Wednesday, January 12. The Eagles come into the bout with a record of 4-9. El Segundo lost 52-38 in their recent non-league bout against King/Drew (Los Angeles, CA)

Next up, the Spartans play the Lawndale Cardinals (Lawndale, CA) in a Pioneer bout, on Wednesday, January 12. South will attempt to upgrade on its 9-8 season record. The Cardinals come into the bout with a 5-9 record after their 72-66 non-league loss to De La Salle North Catholic (Portland, OR).
