Ariton Purple Cats (Ariton, AL) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Abbeville Yellowjackets (Abbeville, AL), 49-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Ariton upgrades its record to 12-6 on the season. The Purple Cats travel to Abbeville (Abbeville, AL) to play the Yellowjackets in a 2A Area 3 bout on Tuesday, January 17. The Yellowjackets go into the bout with a record of 12-6.

Next up, the Yellowjackets confront the Eufaula Tigers (Eufaula, AL) in a non-league challenge, on Saturday, January 14. Abbeville will attempt to improve on its 12-6 season record.
