Altavista Colonels (Altavista, VA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Appomattox County Raiders (Appomattox, VA), 71-44 in a league bout.

With the win, Altavista upgrades its record to 9-2 on the season. The Colonels travel to Chatham (Chatham, VA) to clash with the Cavaliers in a Dogwood bout on Friday, January 13. The Cavaliers go into the bout with a record of 3-8. Chatham lost 63-54 in their recent league bout against William Campbell (Naruna, VA)

Next up, the Raiders clash with the Buckingham Knights (Buckingham, VA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 12. Appomattox County will attempt to upgrade on its 1-8 season record. The Knights go into the bout with a 7-4 record after their 48-42 league loss to Lunenburg Central (Victoria, VA).
