Mississippi High School Basketball - East Union topped by Belmont

January 10, 2023: Belmont, MS 38827

The Belmont Cardinals basketball team scored 58 points and restricted the visiting East Union Urchins to 42 in the Cardinals league victory on Tuesday.

The Cardinals now sport a 8-8 record. They put it on the line next when they host Walnut for a 2A Region 1 contest on Friday, January 13. Belmont will battle a Wildcats team coming off a 85-69 non-league win over Potts Camp (Potts Camp, MS). The Wildcats record now stands at 3-11.

The Urchins (7-10) will now prepare for their contest against Myrtle (Myrtle, MS). The Hawks come into the non-league contest with a 0-9 record. In their last contest, Myrtle was defeated by Charleston (Charleston, MS), 63-31, in a league contest.
