Cypress Lakes Spartans (Katy, TX) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the visiting Bridgeland Bears (Cypress, TX), 46-43 in a league bout.

With the victory, Cypress Lakes improves its record to 11-10 on the campaign. The Spartans travel to Langham Creek (Houston, TX) to confront the Lobos in a 6A Region II District 16 battle on Friday, January 13. The Lobos come into the battle with a record of 15-8. Langham Creek won 43-39 in their recent league battle against Cypress Ranch (Houston, TX)

The Bears (6-16) will now prepare for their battle against Cypress Springs (Cypress, TX). The Panthers come into the 6A Region II District 16 battle with a 14-8 record. In their last battle, Cypress Springs was nudged by Cypress Woods (Cypress, TX), 57-54, in a league battle.
