McGuffey Highlanders (Claysville, PA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Brownsville Falcons (Brownsville, PA), 42-36 in a league bout.

With the win, McGuffey upgrades its record to 9-5 on the season. The Highlanders travel to Yough (Herminie, PA) to play the Cougars in a WPIAL 3A 4 bout on Friday, January 13. The Cougars go into the bout with a record of 6-7. Yough won 75-40 in their recent league bout against Mt. Pleasant (Mt. Pleasant, PA)

Next up, the Falcons play the Jefferson-Morgan Rockets (Jefferson, PA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 19. Brownsville will attempt to upgrade on its 7-3 season record.
