South Winneshiek Warriors (Calmar, IA) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad knock off the host Central Warriors (Elkader, IA), 63-52 in a league bout.

With the victory, South Winneshiek upgrades its record to 8-5 on the campaign. The Warriors host Turkey Valley (Jackson Junction, IA) to play the Trojans in a Upper Iowa bout on Friday, January 13. The Trojans come into the bout with a record of 7-4. Turkey Valley won 49-41 in their recent non-league bout against Tripoli (Tripoli, IA)

Next up, the Warriors play the Kee Kee Hawks (Lansing, IA) in a Upper Iowa bout, on Friday, January 13. Central will attempt to upgrade on its 3-7 season record. The Kee Hawks come into the bout with a 2-8 record after their 69-50 league loss to MFL MarMac (Monona, IA).
