Coronado Islanders (Coronado, CA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Mira Mesa Marauders (San Diego, CA), 47-45 in a league bout.

With the win, Coronado upgrades its record to 16-5 on the season. The Islanders travel to Helix (La Mesa, CA) to play the Highlanders in a non-league bout on Saturday, January 14. The Highlanders go into the bout with a record of 9-10.

Next up, the Marauders play the Madison Warhawks (San Diego, CA) in a Eastern bout, on Friday, January 13. Mira Mesa will attempt to upgrade on its 4-17 season record. The Warhawks go into the bout with a 10-5 record after their 93-62 league loss to Scripps Ranch (San Diego, CA).
