Coventry Comets (Akron, OH) backers were pleased Tuesday as they saw their basketball squad hold off the host Woodridge Bulldogs (Peninsula, OH), 62-59 in a league bout.

With the victory, Coventry upgrades its record to 5-9 on the campaign. The Comets host Springfield (Akron, OH) to play the Spartans in a Metro bout on Friday, January 13. The Spartans come into the bout with a record of 4-8. Springfield lost 58-44 in their recent league bout against Field (Mogadore, OH)

Next up, the Bulldogs play the Norton Panthers (Norton, OH) in a Metro bout, on Friday, January 13. Woodridge will attempt to upgrade on its 6-6 season record. The Panthers come into the bout with a 6-5 record after their 55-39 league loss to Streetsboro (Streetsboro, OH).
