The Edmund Burke Academy Spartans (Waynesboro, GA) basketball nipped the host David Emanuel Academy Eagles (Stillmore, GA), 42-37 in Tuesday's non-league test.
The Spartans (3-11) will now prepare for their test against Brentwood (Sandersville, GA). The War Eagles go into the non-league test with a 6-4 record. In their last test, Brentwood got by Briarwood Academy (Warrenton, GA), 46-38, in a non-league test.
The Eagles now own a 7-1 record. They play next when they travel to Thomas Jefferson Academy for a GIAA A Region 4 test on Friday, January 13. David Emanuel Academy will encounter a Jaguars squad coming off a 79-41 non-league loss to Gatewood (Eatonton, GA). The Jaguars record now stands at 4-3.
