In Tuesday's non-league match, the host Derby Panthers basketball team scored a decisive 58-31 triumph over the Newton Railroaders.

In their next game, the Panthers meet the Maize South Mavericks (Wichita, KS) in a non-league match, on Friday, January 20. Derby will attempt to better on its 7-1 season record.
