In Tuesday's league match, the host Hopewell Blue Devils basketball team scored a tight 65-64 triumph over the Dinwiddie Generals.

In their next game, the Blue Devils meet the Matoaca Warriors (Chesterfield, VA) in a Central match, on Friday, January 13. Hopewell will attempt to move on its 9-2 season record. The Warriors enter the match with a 9-1 record after their 68-66 league win over Petersburg (Petersburg, VA).

With the defeat, Dinwiddie moves to 6-5 on the year. The Generals host Mechanicsville (Mechanicsville, VA) to meet the Mustangs in a non-league match on Wednesday, January 11. The Mustangs enter the match with a record of 1-10. Mechanicsville lost 83-39 in their recent league match against Varina (Richmond, VA)
