Gatewood Gators (Eatonton, GA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad bounce the visiting Thomas Jefferson Academy Jaguars (Louisville, GA), 79-41 in a non-league bout.

With the win, Gatewood upgrades its record to 9-2 on the season. The Gators travel to Briarwood Academy (Warrenton, GA) to clash with the Buccaneers in a non-league bout on Friday, January 13. The Buccaneers go into the bout with a record of 7-6. Briarwood Academy lost 46-38 in their recent non-league bout against Brentwood (Sandersville, GA)

Next up, the Jaguars clash with the David Emanuel Academy Eagles (Stillmore, GA) in a GIAA A Region 4 bout, on Friday, January 13. Thomas Jefferson Academy will attempt to upgrade on its 4-3 season record. The Eagles go into the bout with a 7-1 record after their 42-37 non-league loss to Edmund Burke Academy (Waynesboro, GA).
