The St. Mary's Hawks basketball team (Remsen, IA), was nudged 57-51 in Tuesday's league battle with the visiting Gehlen Catholic Jays (Le Mars, IA)
The Jays now possess a 9-3 record. They put it on the line next when they travel to Unity Christian for a War Eagle battle on Thursday, January 12. Gehlen Catholic will confront a Knights team coming off a 63-58 non-league loss to Boyden-Hull (Hull, IA). The Knights record now stands at 4-5.
The Hawks (8-1) will now prepare for their battle against West Sioux (Hawarden, IA). The Falcons come into the War Eagle battle with a 7-1 record. In their last battle, West Sioux edged Akron-Westfield (Akron, IA), 68-48, in a league battle.
