George Washington Eagles (Danville, VA) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Patrick County Cougars (Stuart, VA), 70-67 in a league bout.

With the win, George Washington upgrades its record to 7-4 on the season. The Eagles host Bassett (Bassett, VA) to play the Bengals in a Piedmont bout on Friday, January 13. The Bengals go into the bout with a record of 8-6. Bassett won 60-44 in their recent non-league bout against Byrd (Vinton, VA)

Next up, the Cougars play the Floyd County Buffaloes (Floyd, VA) in a non-league bout, on Thursday, January 12. Patrick County will attempt to upgrade on its 6-7 season record. The Buffaloes go into the bout with a 8-4 record after their 54-38 league loss to Radford (Radford, VA).
