Sioux Valley Cossacks (Volga, SD) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the host Hamlin Chargers (Hayti, SD), 69-65 in a league bout.

With the win, Sioux Valley upgrades its record to 8-0 on the season. The Cossacks host McCook Central/Montrose (Salem, SD) to play the Fighting Cougars in a non-league bout on Friday, January 13. The Fighting Cougars go into the bout with a record of 6-3. McCook Central/Montrose lost 60-42 in their recent non-league bout against Beresford (Beresford, SD)

Next up, the Chargers play the Webster Bearcats (Webster, SD) in a non-league bout, on Friday, January 13. Hamlin will attempt to upgrade on its 3-2 season record. The Bearcats go into the bout with a 1-6 record after their 74-41 league loss to Waubay/Summit (Waubay, SD).
