The Harlingen South Hawks basketball team scored 42 points and held the host Veterans Memorial Chargers to 24 in the Hawks league triumph on Tuesday.

The Hawks now sport a 12-9 record. They put it on the line next when they host Mercedes for a 5A Region IV District 32 contest on Friday, January 13. Harlingen South will battle a Tigers team coming off a 70-56 league win over Edcouch-Elsa (Edcouch, TX). The Tigers record now stands at 12-12.

The Chargers (10-10) will now prepare for their contest against Porter (Brownsville, TX). The Cowboys enter the 5A Region IV District 32 contest with a 8-13 record.
