Junction City Bluejays (Junction City, KS) backers were in high spirits Tuesday as they witnessed their basketball squad tip the visiting Hayden Wildcats (Topeka, KS), 44-42 in a league bout.

With the win, Junction City upgrades its record to 5-3 on the season. The Bluejays travel to Emporia (Emporia, KS) to play the Spartans in a Centennial challenge on Friday, January 13. The Spartans come into the challenge with a record of 8-1. Emporia won 58-28 in their recent non-league challenge against Paola (Paola, KS)

Next up, the Wildcats play the Topeka Trojans (Topeka, KS) in a non-league challenge, on Friday, January 13. Hayden will attempt to improve on its 3-5 season record. The Trojans come into the challenge with a 1-7 record after their 54-42 non-league loss to Washburn Rural (Topeka, KS).
